فناوری میکروسیالی یکی از فناوری‌های نوین است که توانسته با بهره‌گیری از خواصی ویژه‌ی سیالات در مقیاس میکرو و نانولیتر، همچنین با کاهش هزینه‌ها و زمان آزمایش،کاربردهای گسترده‌ای در بخش‌های تحقیقاتی و درمانی زیست‌شناسی و پزشکی به خود اختصاص دهد. یک دستگاه میکروسیالی، تراشه‌ای از جنس سیلیکون، شیشه یا الاستومر است که لوله‌هایی با ابعاد میکرونی در آن تعبیه شده و سیالات درون این لوله‌ها جریان پیدا می‌کنند. بر اساس نیاز می‌توان تراشه‌هایی طراحی کرد که عملیات مورد نظر در آزمایش‌های معمولی زیستی و پزشکی را در ابعاد کوچک انجام دهد. با توجه به مزایای فراوان سیستم‌های میکروسیالی و همچنین انعطاف‌پذیری بالای آن‌ها برای تولید ساختارهای جدید، آشنایی و ایجاد این فناوری در کشور امری ضروری به نظر می‌رسد.
